TE AWAMUTU BRANCH MANY ACTIVITIES COVERED The monthly meeting of the Te Awamutu branch of the Red Cross Society was held on Thursday. Books and Games Wanted A letter was read appealing for games and books for the men in the Pacific. Anyone having such are requested to hand them into the Red Cross Depot. Men’s Committee A men’s committee, consisting of Messrs H. M. Andrew, S. J. Nobes, G. S. Clarke, R. C. Judd C. W. Rickit, and A. S. Wallace, was appointed. Arts and Crafts It was decided to start a class in Arts and Crafts in the Red Cross Depot. The opening date will be fixed later, but in the meantime members are to contact those interested. Rotorua Military Hospital The matron of the Rotorua Military Hospital appealed to people to send in bright colours in old w felt hats, coloured wool® and cottons. Wademouthed vases were also needed. The appeal is commended to all who can assist. Empire Ball Arrangements are well in hand for the Empire ball to be held on 24th May. Interesting Talk Mr Claude Rae gave a most interCross and the aid given by the Society to prisoners of war. Mr Rae answered a number of questions, and was accorded a nearty vote of thanks for his address. Social Afternoon The social afternoon for the relations of men in the forces overseas is to be held on June 1.
