FINANCIAL FACTORS The necessity for returned soldiers rehabilitated on the land to have a reserve to protect them against bad seasons, severe stock losses and excessive repairs and maintenance was stressed at the monthly meeting ol the Waikato. Sub-Provincial Executive of the Farmers’ Union on Friday. A remit was carried asking that the Rehabilitation Board set aside a sum of not less than £5 an acre of the area of the farm. This sum should not be by way of a charge on the land and not recoverable as mortgage debt except if the serviceman should dispose of the farm within a term of 10 years. The interest rates'for the first six years should be li per cent, the same as paid by the Government to the Reserve Bank, plus 1 per cent to cover administration costs, plus not more than 1 per cent on account of principal.
