WEDDING BELLS

LORIMER—MANSFIELD A quiet but pretty wedding of local interest was celebrated on March 24, at St Peters, Takapuna. The contracting parties were Faith, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Chas. Mansfield, 57 Walters Road, Mt Albert and Sergeant Thomas Mawson, eldest son of Mr and Mrs George Lorimer, Laurel Hill, Te Rore. The Rev Mr Sinclair officiated. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a grey angora costume, the revers of which were appliqued in blue, with this was worn a grey velour turned-up hat and blue accessories. She carried a shower bouquet of water Nlies. As bridesmaid, Miss Peggy Dashwood, of Takapuna, was attired in a deep primrose suit and cream accessories. Her bouquet comprised autumn tinted roses and zinnias. Attending the bridgegroom as bestman, was the bride’s brother, Leading Aircraftman Jock Mansfield. During the signing of the register a solo “I’ll Walk Beside You” was sung by Mrs Cecil Mansfield. To receive her guests Mrs Mansfield wore a smart black and white ensemble and a small black hat. She carried red roses and maidenhair fer. Assisting her was the bridegroom’:; mother in a slate blue costume end matching velour hat. Mrs Lorimer's bouquet was of blue delphiniums. After a honeymoon spent at Whakatane and Rotorua, the bride returned to her duties as a member of the Auckland Hospital staff and the bridegroom to a North Island camp.
