A FINE RECORD
ATTENDANCE AT JUBILEE. Mr and Mrs J. P. Vause, who came to Te Awamutu over fifty years ago, and who during their residence here for over twenty years took part in the local activities of those days, were well represented at the school jubilee festivities on Saturday, there being —six of their seven surviving children—Mrs C. J. Clery (Ida), Mrs M. B. Moss (Millie), Mrs J. R. Seaton (Naomi), Mr C. J- Vause, Mr H. G. Vause, and Mr R. O. Vause—present and taking part as old pupils of the school. Mr N. R- Vause, who is postmaster at Howick, was greatly disappointed that he could not, get leave to attend the jubilee. Mr Vause, Snr., was for many years postmaster at Te Awamutu, and another of his activities of a public nature was superintendence of the Public Library, of which his daughter, Miss Millie Vause, was librarian. Mr and Mrs Vause are now spending the evening of their days in retirement at their home, “ Awamlutu, ’ Queen’s Parade, Devonport.
