The church had been prettily decorated for the occasion by friends of the bride, and blue and white flowers were used most artistically. Miss Jean Sutherland, of Kihikihi, presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a pretty frock of cream lace inset with satin over satin, and train inset with satin flowers; she wore a halo of orange blossom, and the veil was inset with satin flowers to match the frock. She carried a sheath of cream chrysanthemums anc carnations, with trailers In attendance was a group of four bridesmaids, namely, Miss Ailie Jackson, of Ngutunui, Miss Joyce Davies (sister of the bride), Miss Lora Barrett (sister of the bridegroom), Hamilton, and Miss Alma Davies (cousin of the bride), Kawhia. Ushers for the occasion were Messrs A- Sutherland (Te Awamutu) and G. Davies (Kawhia). After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, where a large room had been tastefully decorated in blue and white streamers and flowers, and a large white floral bell was pendant over the bride’s table. Later the happy couple left on their honeymoon tour by car and they will make their future home at “ Fern Hill,” Oparau. In the evening the bride’s friends were entertained by Miss Ailie Jackson (one of the bridesmaids) to what was her twenty-first birthday party, held in the Ngutunui Hall, where about one hundred guest s assembled and spent a very happy evening.
