OPINIONS OF OUR READERS. AILMENTS OF DAIRY COWS. Sir, —An article in a recent newspaper on the enormous losses in dairy cattle from various diseases said that chief amongst them were grass staggers and milk fever. Up to six years ago I lost cows every season from staggers and milk fever; then I started feeding the cows on motasess, and in the last six years I have not had one case of staggers or milk fever occur in my herd. I send this along for the benefit of any farmer who may like to try molasses for the prevention of the ailments mentioned.—l am, etc., E. McGRATH. INFORMATION WANTED. Sir,- —I would like a little light thrown on the affairs of the Te Awamutu Muncipal Band Board. As a subscriber of long standing, I am just a bit confused. I attended the annual meeting and officers were elected. New we have, according to your report, a new treasurer, Cr Rainey, and this before Mr Bockett had resigned! Then there is a par stating Mr Zinsli had resigned, but if town talk is correct, he, like Mr Beckett, had no choice. As a subscriber, I think I am entitled to know just a wee bit of what is going on behind the scenes, until I do I don’t intend to pay any more. In any case the Borough Council gave the Band £lOO, part of which as a ratepayer, I had contributed, so why should I pay twice, especially as the treasurer—a geed man elected by us —has been pushed out without any explanation? I am just as curious to know the why and wherefore as dozens of ethers,—l am, etc., CONTRIBUTOR.
