AS REPORTED IN WAIPA POST, ON OCT. 31st, 1911.
Waipa Cricket Association has elected Mr C. Bowden president and Mr J. H. Ansell, secretary. At a school concert on Friday the chairman of committee (Mr H. Y. Collins), explained the proposed levelling of the school grounds in Roche Street. The work is estimated ta cost £5O. He thanked Mr F. D. Wlood and Misses Mitchell, Jones and Mclntosh, for the success of the concert.
At cricket on Labour Day, Mangapiko defeated Pirongia by an innings and 10 runs. The Mangapiko players were: J. and W. Whitton, C. Alexander, R. and P. Bourne, L. Garland, E. Clarke, E. and G. Redgate, and F. and B. McConkey. The Pirongia team included W. Bell, Jensen, G. Whller, B. Jones, W. Macky, G. Finn, T. Steel; Peat, H. Godfrey, Moon and J. Turner.
At a dance at Hairini on Friday the prize for fancy costume was awarded to Miss B. Alexander (Bridge).
The death occurred last Friday of Mrs Hollier at the age of 90 years. She had resided in New Zealand for 35 years, and in Te Awamutu for 27 years.
