Mrs N. Neilson has taken up her residence in Te Awamutu.

Mrs T. Casey, of Waverley, is visiting her mother, Mrs O. Martin, of Kio Kio.

Mr and Mrs J. Fleming and Miss June Fleming, of Waitoa, were visitors to Te Awamutu on Wednesday.

Mrs W. Rust, of the Thames, and formerly a resident of Otorohanga, is revisiting the King Country, where she is the guest of Mrs R. T. Rhodes, or Otoroliauga.

Mrs P. H. Rowe, Hamilton, was a visitor to Otorohanga on Wednesday and took part in the opening ceremony oi the Central Croquet Club.

Mrs E. Brown, of Kenyan Avenue, Mt Eden, is spending a holiday with Mrs B. F. Morris, Punui Road.

Miss Lilian Quinlan, of Otahuhu, is visiting Otorohanga, where she is the. guest of her sister, Mrs E. W. Pilkington.

Mrs H. Wing, pi Frontier Road, who has been staying with her mother, Mrs S. Armstrong, at Cambridge, has returned home.

Miss Joyce Jeffery, of Te Awamutu, who lately returned after several months spent in Sydney, plans to leave shortly for Hanmer, /Canterbilv.

Advices to hand by the last English mail show that Miss Gladys Irwin, formerly of Te Awamutu, is at present staying with friends at Sevenoaks, Kent.

Mr and Mrs N. Christie, of Albany, Northland, are on a holiday tour of the King Country, and are at present the guests of Mr and Mrs Langkilde, of Puketarata Road, the parents of Mrs Christie.

Mr and Mrs L. Rhodes (the former a member of the postal staff at Frankton Junction) are revisiting Otorohanga, where they are the guests of Mr and Mis R. T. Rhodes, Te Kanawa Street.

It is announced from Christchurch that Miss Jean Batten has been ordered a complete rest by her medical adviser. Therefore, on completion of her Dunirdin visit, she will take a short rest, after which it is hoped that she will be able to continue her tour of the Dominion.

The results already announced of the Auckland University term examinations show that the two former To Awamutu District High School boys, George C. J. Dalton and G. L. Mandeno, figure prominently in the lists—both in the engineering section.

Mr F. Phillips, the second son of Mr and Mrs F. O. R. Phillips, of Otorohanga, was successful at the recent Auckland University examinations, in gaining a pass in jurisprudence in the legal section. Mr B. Hotson, only son of Mr C. Hotson, headmaster at the Otorohanga District High School, passed in English, and Mr R. Sanders (Otorohanga) passed in history in the term examination for the B.A. degree. Mr W. N. Bowyer, of Te Raumauku, passed in his B.A. examination.

Mr John Dean, of Pokeno, has been elected a successor to the late Mr Joseph Henry, of Patumahoe, on the board of directors of the N.Z. Co-op. Dairy Co. Ltd. Mr Dean polled 39,059 votes. The votes polled by the other candidates were as follows: Mr R. I‘. Dane, Haupai, 37,098: Mr A. Best, Bombay, 26,000; Mr E. Grimmond, Otaua, 14,765; Mr P. G. Wyman, Papatoetoc, 13,174; Mr J. H. Bruce, Waiuku, 13,026. With Messrs R. H. McKenzie and R. J. Glasgow, Mr Dean will represent the northern ward on the board. He is chairman of the Franklin Power Board and a member of the Franklin County Council.
