“THE CHRISTIAN”
THEATRE ROYAL, TO-NIGHT AMD TO-MORROW Those who have read Hall Caine's book “ The Christian,’’ will no donbt be pleased to hear that the story has been kinematographed by the London Film Company, and that they have an opportunity to renew their ac quaintance with the characters of this celebrated story in picturo version, which will be presented this evening and to-morrow. Few characters in fiction are better known than that of John Stonu. Mr Derwent Hall Caine, the author’s sod, takes this part and has contrived faithfully to reproduce for the screen the conception of a character which is so familiar. The concluding scenes have in them much that is pathetic and solemn. The acting is excellent and the mounting of the picture magnificent. Scenes of life in the slums of Loudon are realistically shown, and the whole production goes to show the state of perfection to which the art of kinematography has been brought. Every incident by the author, who has left nothing to be desired. The management announce that there will be no rise in prices for this production, but patrons desirous of seeing “ The Christian ” are advised to come early
