SUBMARINE VICTIMS.
FIVE STEAMERS SUNK. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received December (i, 11.15 a.m.) LONDON, December 5. The day's sinkings include the King Bled'dyn (British, 4387 tons), Moeraki (British), Erich Lindoe (Norwegian, 1087 Ions), Demitrios Inglessis (Greek, 2088 tons), Bossi (Norwegian, 1462 tons). Five members or' the crew of the Japa'nese steamer Nagata Maru were killed, and five were wounded by gunfire. MOERAKFS CREW. ALL HANDS SAVED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received December 0, 12.40 p.m.) LONDON, December 5. The whole strength of the Moeraki's crew is reported saved. [Although (lie cable messages clearly name the Moeraki as amongst the vessels which have been sunk, it is certain that a mistake has been made. The Union Steam Ship Company's steamer Moeraki —the only ship of that.name which is included in Lloyd's Register—is at present in Sydney, and is scheduled to leave that port for Wellington to-morrow. She lias not been out of Australian waters since she was used, Very early in the war, as a transport for the Advance Guard of the Expeditionary Force—the detachment which occupied Samoa.]
