BREACH OF FAITH.
MORE GERMAN PERFIDY. STRONG DUTCH PROTEST. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received December G, 11.30 a.m.) AMSTERDAM, December 5. Having seized all the copper in Belgium, the Germans have requisitioned 850,000 kilogrammes of zinc from Prayon and Yiellemontague factories. The Dutch Foreign Minister (Dr J. Loudon) replying to a question, stated that the Dutch Government had sent a note to Germany protesting aeainst the Belgian deportations. The Government had pointed out that the Dutch authorities, in 1914, encouraged Belgian fugitives to return, after making a convention with Germany guaranteeing the personal liberty of the returning Belgians, therefore it hoped that fugitives who had been deported to Germany would be sent home. Germany's reply, said Dr Loudon, was unsatisfactory, and diplomatic conversations are proceeding.
