The "Petit Parisien" states that the Germans are attempting to compel the Rumanians to concentrate all their forces, and then to deal them a decisive blow by a march on Bucharest. The Rumanians are preventing this by maintaining their reserves intact, even at the cost of heavy sacrifices in the meantime. M. Marcel Hutin, writing in the "Echo de Paris," expresses fears for the safety of Rimnik-Valcea, on the Oltuz, along winch line the Rumanians are retreating soutlwards, evacuating almost the whole of West Wallachia. Rimnik-Valcea is ;(0 miles south of the Transylvanian frontier.
