ENEMY TRADE.
QUEST FOR INFORMATION. Press Association. WELLINGTON, January 31. Referring to the question of trading with tlie enemy, tlie Prime Minister called attention again to the Acts of 1914 and 1915, making trading or attempting to trade'with the enemy an indictable offence, punishable severely. Me said that, speaking generally, merchants and traders throughout the Dominion were assisting the Government loyally. Continued vigilance was necessary, 'and it was possible that a small quantity of enemy goods was reaching New Zealand through neutral channels, but the amount must be infinitesimal. Mr Massey added that the Government would always be glad to receive information from any persons who had reason to believe that enemy trading was going on. Allegations had been made in the past, but little or no evidence had been produced.
