TECHNICAL EDUCATION.
TEACHERS' CONFERENCE. I'ress Association. DUNEDIN, January .11. At the New Zealand Technical Teachers' Association Conference today, officers were elected as follow:—President, Mr Neave (Auckland); vice-pre-sident, Mr I. E. Newton (Christeliurc.h); executive, Miss M. Wilson (Invercargill), Miss Eenwick (Auckland), Messrs 0. .1. Park (Wanganui), and W. S. Ald ridge (Christehureh). It was resolved that the Association advocate the union or all Teachers' Associations in New Zealand on the lines of the National Union of Teachers in England. It was agreed to draft a scheme, to be sent to the Educational Institute for its consideration. It was resolved that it was advisable that on the Council of Education technical school teachers should have representation, separate and distinct from that of secondary school teacheTs. It was resolved that the number of hours' teaching per Week be 25, and that the controlling authorities be approached with a view to having matters arranged accordingly.
