BRITAIN AFTER THE WAR,
NEW YORK, November 25;
Sir George Paish, on leaving for London, stated that the United States was certain to enjoy great prosperity during the war, but misfortune was certain, to come later The world was now consuming seed corn.. The suffering caused thereby would last for a decade. After the war Great Britain would be able to reduce expenditure on armaments, and was likely to be able to defray the entire cost of the war in a few years.
Sir George Paish expected the leading Stock Exchange of the world to reopen in January, when it was hoped financial confidence would generally be restored. -'.■■'•■■
