The plough track this morning provided capital going, and -much sprint work was accomplished by horses who were not run under silk. yesterday. -First Flight and! Autumnus, with a couple of light-weights up, sprinted six furlongs on the plough track. The firstnamed experienced little difficulty in -accounting for his stable mate,.and finished up «n easy winner. -He looks-bright and well and- is sure to take boating in the race for the Gold Cup on Saturday. Martins exhibited a strong* dislike for work this morning, ancr after a deal of persuasion was induced to gallop six furlongs in company with Findhorn, there being little between the pair at "the finish,The former has lightened np a lot. Hymettius looks well and sprinted a brilliant half-mile on the plough track this morning, pulling up well. ■ Scotch Melody was going well at the end of six furlongs in company with Peg on the plough track this morning. The two-year-old Sweet Corn experienced little difficulty in holding her own at the end of half a-mile, run in company with Tete-a-Tete, on the plough this morning. She may run prominently on Saturday. Blue Lake, carrying a fair weight, sprinted a brilliant half-mile on the plough this morning. She should be worth keeping an eye on. . Briar Patch and Bon finished together at the end of five furlongs run on the plough. The former appeared to be going the better of the pair at the finish. Daylight Biii was given a gallop over six furlongs in company with St. Elmn this morning. The former, although defeated by a length, went freely and should be worth consideration on Saturday. His race in the Metropolitan Handicap on Monday found the weak spot in Quarantine, as the son of Treadmill is exhibiting decided signs of lameness and has one leg encased in a bandage.. He may not be seen out again at the meeting.
