SATURDAY'S FIXTURES. OPAWA CLUB. The following games have been arranged for Saturday on the Opawa green:— Farrow, Bonnington, Taylor, and Goldstone (s) v. Broadhurst, Woodham, Ditfort, and SpiHer (s) ; Pearce, Malmanche, Cragg, and Clarke (s) v. Gormack, Thompson, Talbot, and A. S. Bruce (s) ; Veitch, J. West, arid .Lucas (s) v. Wilson, W. Rantin, Prisk, ■and Wright (s); Peez, T. Rantin, Beanland, and Best (s) v. Steans, Chapman, Hunter, and H. A. Bruce (s) ; Eastwood, Haigh, jun., Starkie, and Gwatkin (s) v. Cooksley, jun., Annand, Bean, and Hercus (g); Haigh, sen., McMillan, Winchester, and Hillary (s) v. Cooksley, sen., G. Watson, Captain Smith, and Goodhart (s). The games will commence punctually st 2.30 p.m., and all players are requested to be on the green at 2.15 o'clock. LINWOOD v. CANTERBURY. The following will represent Linwood against Canterbury on( Saturday:On Linwood green: Papps, Ardiey, Ellis; Snell (s) ; Nutt, Preece, Buchanan, Price (s) ; Sprosen, Peoples, Keighley, Marriott (s); Congreve, T. H. James, T. M. Taylor, Redpath (s) ; Hilson, Snell, Horsley, Killner (s). On Canterbury green: Knox, Lomas, H. Adams, Read (s) ; E. C. Brown, Matthews, Burgess, Velvin (s) ; Wilkinson, Holliday, E. T. Jones, Healey (s) ; Fraser, D. N. Adams, Ambrose, Morrison (s) ; Ormandy, Wansborough, Radford, F. J. Good (s). SYDENHAM v. EDGEWARE. Sydenham and Edgeware will meet in a friendly game on Saturday, when the following ' will play for Sydenham : On Sydenham green: Freeman, Howison, Beattie, Chegwin; Edwards, Coote, R. Hadfleld, J. Hadfield; Rudd, Ritchie, Wardman, C. Taylor; Laws, Allison, Turnbull, Young. On Edgeware green: W. Mann, Griffiths, Faulkner, Dobbs; Robertson, Good, Calvert, McGallan; Rawlinson, H. Williams, Hamilton, Fewings; Chambers, Hill, Jack, J. Taylor; Price, Spiller, Pritehard, Scott. RANGIORA CLUB. A progressive doubles match has been arranged for Monday next. Seventeen entries have been received for flie handicap singles and 11 for the two-bowl doubles, a start with which has already been made. The green is not quite at its'best, more rain being required to help along the grass. LEESTON CLUB. The finals of the Leeston Bowling Club's champion singles and handicap doubles, held over from last season, were played off during the past week. S. Johnson defeated H. Neave for the green championship after a close contest, by five points. C. Fisse and H. Neave won the handicap doubles, the prize for which was a set of bowls presented by the patron of the club, the Hon. R. Heaton Rhodes. The club has accepted an invitation to visit Sumner on Labour Day to play a friendly game with the club there. Mr Smithson, president of the Sumner Club, who. is also an honorary member of the Leeston Club, has given a trophy valued at £1 1/for competition amongst the members of the latter club. The green is now in excellent order, and the club competitions are to start immediately.
