TRACK WORK AT TRENTHAM, Press WELLINGTON, October 22. At Trentham this morning most of the work j was done on the tan track, which was fast. ! Need was in front of Want at the end of j five furlongs covered in lmin 4sec. j Kilrain did a good working gallop, and Merrie Roe was too good for Bleriot over six furlongs run in lmin 17Jsec. 11. Cutts's team and the other previous day arrivals did some easy pacing. . Sea Pink beat Ringform over a mile in lmin 44' sec. All of Stewart Waddel's team cantered on the grass, except Hyettus and Idealism, who vrent on the tan. Beldame beat Martian Princess over half a mile in 48Jsec. Labour Day was given a strong working gallop. Chakwana finished ahead of Miraculous at the end of four furlongs run in 49sec. Pariform ran half a mile with Expect, who went on the tan alone for another mile. Balboa and Camulus galloped a mile and a-quarter, the last mile taking lmin 44sec. Balboa's was the best performance. Sir Knox finished in front of Birkful over a mile traversed in lmin 45sec. La Favourita ran four furlongs in 51sec. Tango and Merry Dale (Porirua two-year-olds) took 51|sec.
