LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP. Prr.is Association. DUNEDIN, October 11. The New Zealand Ladies' Golf Championship Meeting was continued on Saturday. After daybreak a heavy electrical rain shower commenced to fall and continued for some time. When the third round of the championship was commenced pools of water lay on many of the greens, which were, of course, much slower than on the previous days. The rain slackened off towards 10 o'clock, and after a few holes had been played stopped altogether, leaving conditions most pleasant and the turf and greens in excellent condition under a drying wind. CHAMPIONSHIP. Miss E. Bell (Wellington) beat Miss Wood (Christchurch) 1 up. Miss A. Hnmphreys (Christchurch) beat Mrs McCarthy (St. Clair) 2 up. Mrs Guy Williams (Masterton) beat Miss Wright (Timaru) 3 up and 2 to play. Mrs Murphy (Otago) beat Miss N. Brandon (Wellington) 6 up and 5 to play. With the exception of the last, all the matches were keenly contested, particularly that between Mrs Williams and Miss Wright, which was worthy of any championship. . DONNELLY CUP. The contest for Mrs E. P. Donnelly's Cup resulted: — Handicaps under 15. —Miss E. Bell (Wellington), gross 91, handicap 8, not 83; Miss B. Harris (Hagley), 94—11 —83; Miss Wood (Christchurch), 90—5 —85. Handicaps over 15.—Miss Glendining (Otago), 101—22—79. A', teams match played in conjunction resulted in a win for Ohristchurch (Miss Wilson 104, Miss Wood 90, Miss Covvlishaw 100, Miss- Humphreys 99) over Wellington and Otago teams. SUMNER LADIES ▼. LYTTELTON LADIES. A match Sumner ladies y. Lyttelton ladies was. played at Charteris" Bay on Saturday afternoon. The following were the scores:— I''oursomes.
