KAIAPOI.

ST. ANDREW'S SOCIETY. The annual children's social was held last night in the Drill Hall, Kaiapoi. The children of members of the society and friends were served with a splendid tea, which was greatly enjoyed by the youngsters. . After tea the large hall was transformed into a playground and racing track, much amusem6iit being caused by' the wheelbarrow, three-legged, and other races. Mr McDougal and Mr Grey acted as starters, while the tape was held by Mr Clark and others. Great fun was enjoyed in the scrambling for lollies, and every child was supplied ■with a toy of some description. The latter part of the evening was enjoyed by the youths and maidens in dancing. All through the arrangements ivere a great success.
