RANGIORA.
A special meeting of the North Canterbury Jockey Club was held yesterday afternoon when there was a fair attendance, over which the president, Mr van Asche, presided.
The election of officers for the en j suing year resulted as follow: — President, Mr G. W. Rutherford; vice-president, Messrs Hugh Elisor, J. McDonald, F. Wotherspoon; treasurer, Mr" M. Scott; auditor, Mr H. C.' Wilson; secretary (pro tem.), Mr A. Pullon; stewards, W. Kelcher, J. Power, H. van Asche, J. Chapman, C. C. Patterson, B. Edwards, R. Fleming, R. Henderson, J. Heaney* C. N. McLean, J. McCracken, S. Ryan, W. Parsons, F. Wotherspoon, W. Cuningham. It was agreed that the stewards act ns a committee.
It was agreed to leave the appointment of a ground committee to the general committee.
Messrs van Asche and J. McDonald, together with the secretary, were appointed to make the "necessary application to the Minister of Internal Affairs for a totalisator permit. A vote of thanks was passed to the retiring officers- for their past services.
