A BETTER HOUSE.

SIXPENNY ORGAN RECITAL. RECEIPTS IMPROVE. The takings at the organ recital in His Majesty's Theatre last evening amounted to £l6, which is £4 better than the receipts on the previous Sunday evening. \ Eaeh patron was invited to subscribe sixpence, and the improvement in the takings indicates that the great majority complied with the request.

The City Council naturally desires that the recitals shall pay their way. The actual cost per recital is stated to be about £l7 10/-, so that the payable point is not very far distant.
