BOROUGH COUNCILS.

RICCARTON. The fortnightly meeting- of the Hiccarton Borough Council was held" last evening, when,there were present: The Mayor (Mr .7. Brown) and Crs. W, Helli-well, G. D. White, T. J. Stokes, E. J. Foster, T. Waddell, and A. D. Ford. Apologies for absence were made for Crs. W. J. Edwards and J. Dempster. REPOETS. The financial statement showed balances as follows:—District Fund Account, cir. of £748 10/5; Loan < Account* dr. of £1 19/11. "The receipts sinee last meeting amounted to £63.6 19/1. —The report was adopted. Accounts amounting to £244 16/10 were passed for payment. The By-laws Committee recommended" to the council that authority should be given to the outside workmen to report all breaches, of the by-laws that come under their notice to the Town. Clerk, who would give every report prompt attention. The report was adopted.
