SYDNEY, July 28
All enquiries respecting the death of Ethel Houghton failed to elucidate the mystery. The deceased girl left her home to meet a young man, but he waited in vain for an hour.
He has been able to satisfy the police as to his movements.
[A cable message yesterday stated that the body of Ethel May Houghton, aged 22, had been found on the road outside the show ground at Broad Meadow, Newcastle. Her head was almost severed from her body, and a blood-stained razor was found near by. Indications of a struggle lead the police to suspect a case of murder.]
