N.S.W. LAND SCANDAL.
THE BOORABIL ENQUIRY.
A POLITICAL "PULL."
By Cable. — Press Association. — Copyright, SYDNEY, July 27.
At the Boorabil enquiry Mr Jones said that from the newspaper reports people would get the impression that he had no knowledge of the land question, and that his services in connection" with the case were only secured because he had a political pull. This was incorrect. He regarded his knowledge of land as equal to that of "any man in New South Wales.
Asked by the Commission if anyone wanting to buy or sell land sought his opinion, Mr Jones replied "No." He had no practical experience.
The Commissioner said that many people claimed to know all about land who knew nothing. The Under-Secretary of the Land Department gave evidence that no undue pressure had been brought to bear on him over the sale of Boorabil.
