VELVET WEDDING GOWN HAS TRAIN OF BRUSSELS LACE
PRETTY MORNING CEREMONY CALDWELL—COTTER Wearing a bridal gown of ivory chiffon velvet, Cecily, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Cotter, of 14 Mount Hobton Road, Remuera, was married at St. Benedict’s Church on Wednesday morning to Mr. Lawrence Caldwell, of Ohaeawai, Bay of Islands, second son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oswald Caldwell, of Hauraki Plains. Father O’Neill performed the ceremony and Miss Maida Hooker presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore her gown fashioned on long lines, gathered at the hips and falling to the ankles. Her beautiful veil of old honiton lace which was arranged on the head with sprays of orange blossom fell in graceful folds over a train of brussels lace and she carried a sheaf of white flowers Miss Noel Cotter attended the brid** wearing a frock of pastel pink silk chiffon, flared from the hips and falling to the ankles. On the corsage was a deep shoulder cape of pink chantillv lace. She wore a pink felt hat and carried a bouquet of pink and blue flowers. Mr. Hugh Wright, junr., carried oui the duties of best man. At the reception which followed Mrs. Cotter received her guests wearing an ensemble of navy satin marocain trimmed with coffee lace and a navy bankok hat. Her bouquet was of autumn-shaded flowers.
