WHANGAREI WEDDING

BRIDESMAIDS IN PINK AND CORNFLOWER BLUE DOWNS—DYSART A wedding of local interest was celo brated at Christ Church, Whangarei, on Tuesday morning, when Grace, eldest daughter of Mr. G. Dysart, of Nukutawhiti, was married to James, youngest son of Mr. C. D. Downs, of Whangarei. The Rev. H. T. Steele officiated, and Mr. Woods presided at the organ The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a charming frock of cream panne velvet lined with pink silk, and finished with a large velvet bow at the back. Her beautiful veil of embroidered net, which was held in place by a dainty wreath of orange blossoms, fell in graceful folds to form a train. She carried a shower bouquet of cream roses and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Lily Dysart and Miss Mary Downs, sisters of the bride and bridegroom respectively. The former wore a pretty frock of blush rose pink georgette, with long graceful sleeves and uneven hemline. A bow of georgette and a diamente buckle ornamented the neckline at the back, and a spray of velvet flowers to tone was worn on the left shoulder. She wore a smart white felt hat, and carried a bouquet of pink and white flowers. Miss Downs wore a frock of cornflower blue georgette finished with a pretty cape collar, outlined with velvet flowers to tone and a long skirt which fell in points to an uneven hemline. She wore a large blue felt hat trimmed with a pearl ornament and carried a dainty bouquet of blue and pink flowers. Mr. D. Fraser acted as best man, and Mr. H. Firth, of Okaihau, as groomsman. The reception was held in the Marble Bar. where Mrs. Dysart received her guests in a smart frock of navy silk relieved with lemon. The bride travelled in a smart navy costume, with silver grey blouse and navy and grey hat to tone. Mr. and Mrs. Downs will make their future home at Nukutawhiti.
