MARUIA ROAD IN ORDER

PASSABLE BY MOTOR-CARS Press Association WELLINGTON, Saturday. Sir Joseph Ward has issued the statement that he has had inquiries made of responsible engineers of the Public Works Department in regard to the state of the Maruia Road, between Nelson and Westport. The road is metalled throughout and is described as being a good road. Numbers of private cars are taking* the royte daily, and service cars are running to schedule. The Toui'ist Department is booking quite freely for the trip to Westport over the route, and reports to the effect that the road is unsuitable for motor traffic are inaccurate.
