MR. G. W. MINTER Well-known in business circles in Auckland, Mr. George William Minter has died in Wellington at the age of It. Born in Mew South Wales Mr Minter came to New Zealand ’as x boy, joining his father on a station in Utago. After being in the service of the Bank of New Zealand he went into private business and was interested in the finding of gold in Otago and Terawhiti. .He is survived by his wife and two daughters. MR. L. H. HOLLOWAY Mr. Puke Hallam Hollowav, who died at his home in Epsom oh Thursday, at the age of S 3, was an old resident of Auckland. Born in Nottingham England, lie came to New Zealand in lSb° and engaged in storekeeping near tire W hail Creek. For some vears he was gold-digging at Thames and Coromandel. but entered the Rand Tax Department being later transferred to the Property Tax Department. Entering the Deeds Office, he rose to the position of deputv-registrar before retiring on superannuation some years ago. Mrs. Holloway died about three years ago. Mr. Holloway is survived bv two sons, Messrs. J. A. and H. E. Hrfillo"ay, of Auckland; and three daughters. Mrs. J. MeDougall, of Epsom. Mrs. R. Totman, of Te Kuiti and Miss Holloway, of Epsom. MRS. M. A. BENNETT Mrs. Mary Annie Bennet, a daughter of tlie late Mr. W. H. Raycock, who came to New Zealand with the eariv Albertland settlers, has died at Howiek a . t the age of 70. She married Mr A la. Bennet in ISSS and for the past 30 years they had lived at Howiek for many years owning the Howiek Marine Hotel. Mrs. Bennet is sur- ' n bor husband, one son, Air I.
