TAKAPUNA BY-ELECTION

MR. J. COLLINS A CANDIDATE Prominent in local body affairs in Takapuna for many years, Mr. John Collins has complied with a request from a large body of residents and ratepayers to contest a seat on the Borough Council at the by-election. A resident of the district for 33 years, Mr. Collins has been a member of the School Committee for 30 years, 18 of which he has been secretary. He was also a borough councillor for 12 years. Mr. Collins has a wide knowledge of the district’s requirements enhanced by his past experience in borough affairs. CANDIDATE’S ADDRESSES In furtherance of his campaign for the vacant seat on the Takapuna Borough Council, Mr. C. H. M. Wills will address meetings at Bayswater Clubhouse on Monday evening, and at the Foresters’ Hall, Takapuna Central, on Tuesday evening. The Mayor, Mr. J. W. Williamson, and Crs. J. W. Hayden and J. F. Colegrove will also speak. The meetings commence at 8 o’clock.
