BURGLARS AT WORK

THIEVES IN NEW PLYMOUTH (From Our Own Correspondent) NEW PLYMOUTH, Today. The offices of two coal merchants in New Plymouth were entered by burglars on Saturday night. In neither attempt were the thieves able to find anything of value and nothing was taken away. The front door of the office of C. H. Hall, in Fitzroy. was forced, and the safe, which held a considerable sum of money, was moved out into the middle of the room. There was no sign that the intruders had attempted to open the safe. In the office of R. S. S. Richardson the till was removed. It was taken out into the backyard and smashed, but there was nothing in it, and it was left on the ground.
