Hurrying' to the door, he found Mrs. Quirk in a distressed state. She told him there was a man in her house. He immediately rang the telephone exchange and asked them to get into communication w-ith the police. While he was doing this, however, Mrs. Quirk called out, “There he is!” Mr. Pipe rushed outside, and the
intruder made for the road. Mr, Pipe went out to the road, ran after the man, and caught him. After a brief struggle he had the man helpless with a good hold. He held the man until the arrival of Constable Breed, who took Devain to the police station.. Mrs. Quirk stated that she heard a noise in the house.
