WOMAN’S DEATH

SERIOUS CHARGE MADE REMAND ON BAIL Adeline Pyle, a middle-aged woman, was charged at the Police Court this morning with unlawfully using an instrument, thereby causing death. The offence was alleged to have taken place at Auckland on June 27. Chief-Detective Hammond applied for a remand until Friday, and Mr. Singer, for accused, made an application for bail, which was fixed in two sureties each of £250 and one of £SOO. Counsel mentioned that the woman was a widow with two daughters.

It is understood that the arrest was made this morning by DetectiveSergeant Doyle.
