PRESENTATION AT TE KUITI
With the object of bidding farewell to a very popular member, a smoke concert under the auspices of the Maniapoto Rugby Union, local football clubs and the Referees’ Association was held at Te Kuiti on Wednesday evening. The guest was Mr. T. C. Robinson, who is leaving shortly to take charge of the Public Trust Office at Feilding. During his four years’ residence in Te Kuiti Mr. Robinson has been closely connected with football activities, being also a member of the Referees’ Association.
On behalf of the various bodies represented, Mr. E. H. Tapp, president of the Maniapoto Rugby Union, presented Mr. Robinson with a handsome clock, suitably inscribed. In doing so Mr. Tapp said their guest had worked untiringly in the interests of Rugby football both on and off the field, and his departure would mean a severe loss to the game locally. He wished him the best of luck. Mr. Robinson suitably responded. A lengthy toast list was honoured during the evening, numerous musical items were contributed, and Messrs. J. Hetet and P. Miles accompanied on the piano.
