Dairy Marketing Scheme Afoot
BIG MOVE IMMINENT NEGOTIATIONS PROCEEDING (From Our Resident Reporter) WELLINGTON, Today. Large developments are imminj ent in dairy, marketing, one of the largest operators in New Zealand now being engaged in a scheme which ultimately is expected to give him control of at least 55 per j cent, of the Dominion’s output. j Already something like one-tliivd of | the produce shipped from the coun- | try is under control of his allied comj panies. ' The scheme is reported to be the attempt at scientific marketing made from this part of the world. Alliances have been formed with Australian houses, and advertising has been arranged in Canada and the United Kingdom. A recently concluded agreement provides that New Zealand pat butter will be upon the Canadian market all the year round, ■while every day in the year there must be at least 20 shops in London displaying only New Zealand butter. Meantime, negotiations are proceeding with various dairy factories in the Dominion, and the result of the effort, which will be known within the next two months, is keenly awaited by ij le dairy produce dealers.
