The story of “Hangman's House.” now at the Royal Theatre, Kingsland, tells how Connaught G’Brien, to please her uncle, becomes the wife of John Barcy, a man she does not love. Barey, who has a past he would fain forget, is trailed to Ireland by Citizen ITogan, in search of vengeance. Things go badly with Barcy, and in a desperate attempt to repair his finances, he bets heavily against ' The Bard, which is ridden in the great steeplechase by Dermot McDermott, who loves, and is loved by, Connaught. After a thrilling race The Bard wins, and Barcy, infuriated, shoots the horse. “Moran of the Marines,” an amusing story of the trials of a recruit, is also oeing shown, starring Richard Bix. With the completion of his testimony in the “Cohens and Kelly’s”—“Abie’s Irish Rose” court entertainment—Harry Pollard entrained for Universal City with Curtis Benton, to. put “The Minstrel Show,” with Eddie Leonard, into immediate production. Benton, who wrote the continuity, has been in New York with him working on the production while the trial lasted.
