The plane Spirit of Australia arrived at Calcutta at 2 p.m. yesterday fijom Rangoon, a distance of 750 miles. Her average speed was 100 miles an hour. Rangoon had ben reached on Friday at 5.15 p.m. Captain Hurley said It was the best weather they had expedienced during the flight. The engine went splendidly. They followed the coastline for the greater part of the way. They had encountered terrible head winds since leaving Australia. They anticipated making longer hops as they got into cooler air. The plane left Calcutta for Karachi at dawn to-day.
