GUIDE DANCE AT TAKAPUNA

A successful plain and fancy dress party and dance was held by the Takapuna Girl Glides in the Parish Hall on Friday evening. The proceeds were in aid of Girl Guide and the Mayoress Relief Funds. The hall was decorated with greenery and streamers. During; the evening items were given by Misses Joan Brown (song) and Sylvia Swales (dance). Members of the Guide committee present were:—Mrs. J. W. Williamson (president). Mrs. A. M. Gunn (chairwoman), Mrs. Mcßride, Mrs. J. W. Wilson, Mrs. D. Cambridge. Mrs. Martin, Guide Captain Johnston. the Misses M. Gamble, Nash, E. Arthur and B. Wilson.

Much appreciated assistance was given by Mesdames Christensen. Goodwin and Brown, of the Milford Guide committee. The winners of the fancy dress prizes were: Miss Edna Crosley. Victorian lady; Miss Phyllis Winstone, South Sea Islander: and Miss Varie Mcßride, Mother Goose. Mr. D. K. Gunn was M.C.
