PACT TO OUTLAW STRIFE
FRANCE AND AMERICA LONDON, Tuesday. Opinion in France respecting the American proposals for a pact with France to outlaw war has not yet crystallised, but newspapers of diametrically opposed views agree that the rc ovations in the draft treaty do not leave much for arbitration. The diplomatic correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” also draws attention to the narrow scope of the proposals, but adds that it goes.,without saying the suggestion of a similar treaty being concluded between Britain and the United States would be most sympathetically received here.— A. and N.Z.
