The atrocities committed by the followers of Faisal Dawish during their third raid are angering all Iraq. The raiders ferociously massacred all males, including babies, and seized thousands of head of live stock, and left the women to starve. The sufferers were mostly harmless shepherds. News circulates too slowly to permit of effective punitive action by the Air Force. The nomad Arabs are panicstricken at the weakness of Ibn Baud s regime, which threatens to bring serio'is consequences.—A. and N.Z.
