UNSEEN BEAUTY

BLIND MAN’S PLEA WAS HIS WIFE UGLY? STRANGE DIVORCE ACTION By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright Reed. 10.50 a.m. PRAGUE, Sunday. A divorce petition, believed to be unprecedented, is engaging the court’s attention. A soldier, aged 28, who was blinded in the war, is seeking a decree against his blind wife, aged 4S, on the ground that she deceived him regarding her age and appearance. The soldier alleges that she claimed to be young and beautiful, whereas he has been told that she is very ugly. The wife replied that the husband, before their marriage, felt her face and adjudged her attractive, but he was now influenced by her enemies’ culumnies. The court dismissed the petition on the ground of inadequate reason, and the husband is now appealing.—A. and N.Z.
