GIANT AIRSHIPS
COMPLETED FOR BRITAIN ENGLAND-INDIA SERVICE By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright LONDON, Thursday. Details have been made available of the Air Ministry’s two gigantic flyingships, which are being completed at Rochester. The hulls of the airships are allmetal riveted sheets of such a size that the men working on them appear to be dwarfed. The nose of each dirigible is exactly similar to the bow of a mediumsized ship. There are portholes at both sides. The plan of construction has obviated the use of cross-braces, and this will allow passengers wide and comfortable cabins. The two airships are to be used by Imperial Airways in the London-Egypt-Calcutta-Rangoon service.—A. and N.Z. The two huge airships referred to in the message will each have a capacity of 5,000,000 cubic feet. There will be accommodation in each for 100 passengers.
