NO INQUIRY.
Expressed Derailed At Paraparaiimu. LiNE NOW CLEAR. Press Association —Copyright. Wellington, September 1. There will be no departmental inquiry into the express train’s accident at Paraparaumu' on Sunday. A departmental inquiry is usually held only when the cause of the accident is in doubt or negligence is -suspected. In the present case ordinary operating procedure was followed by all concerned, the accident happening at a spot where trouble had not been experienced before with shifting country.
Departmental officers, however, will make a complete investigation and submit reports to the general manager, who will transmit these to the Minister of Railways.
The line is now clear for normal traffic. The locomotive which is lying by the side of the line will probably be moved on Sunday. \
