Sinful Oesiriistion. LOUVAIN SLOTTED OFF THE MAP. London, September 4. The Hague newspapers give full descriptions of the sacking of Louvain. Dutch eye-witnesses state that prior to the outrage the inhabitants were thoroughly cowed and so terrified that they hardly dared to speak to each other in the streets. On the night when Louvain was blotted put of the map they saw Germans shooting the inhabitants haphazard. As each house caught fir© ;the Germans battered in the front doors of the next house, and when the frightened inhabitants rushed out they were shot down, men, women, and children. One German boasted that lie had shot 63 people.
MALINES LAID IN RUINS.
Amsterdam, September 4
The Germans bombarded Maline* on Wednesday. The Cathedral w*« reduced to ruins. St. Rombold’s shrine was rescued and conveyed to Amverp, will many oher works of art, including two Rubens’ painting*.
