PROHIBITION.
SCENE IN LEGISLATURE. IN TENNESSEE. [By Electric Telegraph—CopyrightJ [United Press Association.] (Received noon.) New York, September 21. At Nashville, Tennessee, Mr Stanton, speaker of the Lower House in the Tencssee Legislature, alleged that Governor Hooper had despatched two cases of revolvers to the offices of the Capitol Superintendent, with instructions that they he used to intimidate Mr Stanton. A representative named Maclarlanc removed his coat in order to show that he was unarmed.
Other representatives followed suit, and a lively scene occurred with much uproar. Finally a motion to investigate the truth o fthc Speaker’s statement was defeated. There is much ill-fooling between the parties as the result of a prohibition campaign.
