TESTS FOR KAUPOKONUI.
JANUARY FIGURES. The January returns of herd-testing results of the Kaupokonui Dairy Company are published by the “Hawera Star,” and some good records are shown. Unfortunately, no information is available as to the exact period over which the figures are taken, though presumably it h; the usual thirty-day period ending towards the end of January. The figures, of course, cannot be compared with those wo publish to-day, and supplied by
the Stratford' and Midhirst Contesting Associations. The highest Kaupokonui herd average was 49.691b5. butter fat, test 4.75, while the ten best herds averaged 41.3211)3. fab, with an average test of 4.30. The lowest herd average was 23.191b5. fat, test 3.91, and the ten lowest herds averaged 25.511bs of fat. The highest individual cow gave 76.951b5. butter fat, valued at £3 16s. The lowest individual cow gave B.4llb f s. flutter fat, valued at Bs. The highest herd averaged 49.691 bs. butter fat, valued at £2 9s. The lowest herd averaged 23.191b5. butter fat, valued at £1 3s. The ten highest herds comprising 37G cows, averaged 41.411b5. butter fat, valued at £2 Is. The ten lowest herds, comprising 396 cows, averaged 25.511b5. butter fat, valued at £1 ss. The ten highest herds made 15.5731b5. butter ° , fat, wortn £778 13s. The ten lowest herds made lO.lOllbs. butter fat, worth £505 Is. The average for the Association was 791bs of milk, ,3.94 test, 31.551b5. fat.
