OPERATION OF THE GAMING ACT. (Per Press Association.) Christchurch, March 17. The Metropolitan Trotting Club has altered the dates of the Easter meeting from Saturday and Wednesday, to Wednesday and the following Saturday. The Gaming Act provides that a two days’ meeting must not cover more than four days. The Club regarded Sunday as dies non, but the Government refuse a sanction for the original dates; hence the alteration.
