AERIAL NAVIGATION.
A CHAIN OF STATIONS. (Received noon.) London, February 27. The Government is considering Mr Graham White’s scheme for a chain of air stations, particularly round the coast. SOLUTION OF THE MYSTERY. A lire balloon four feet high, partially deflated, was found at market Weighton. This explains the supposed airship seen on the east coast. CONCERNING AIRSHIPS. (Received 12.15 p.m.) A Parseval airship for the Admiralty is nearly ready. The captain of the Arcadia reports that he saw an airship northward of the Orkneys. The airship Beta, in attempting to alight owing to engine trouble at Aldershot, collided with the telephone wires and was seriously damaged. ITALY’S AIRCRAFT. Rome, February 27. Italy is spending half a million on dirigibles and hydroplanes.
