(Received 9.45 a.in.) London, November 11. ' The Government's defeat was caused hy Dir. Banbury moving an amendment on the Ways and Means Committee. The resolution, ho explained, ' wished to prevent English taxpayers providing money for a Government in which they did not share. A snap division surprised the Government. “Resign.” Tito House adjourned on the Premier’s motion. Twelve .Nationalists and twenty Lahoriles were absent dining (j o division on Mr. Banbury's amendment. THE INSURANCE ACT. London, November 11. Hurlock and others, comieted oj non-compliance with tin; Insurance Act, have obtained from the Ivuig’s Bench a rule uiH’de certiorari to quash their convictions, on the ground that' the regulations were invalid.
