Sydney, September 5. Los Angelos has been scratched for the Metropolitan Handicap, and Bon Soir, Hon Rev© and Bon Ton for the Australian Derby. HOCKEY. Christchurch, September 5. The New Zealand ladies’ hockey tournament commences at Sydenham Park on Saturday and will continue throughout the following week. Six matches will be played daily. Fourteen teams are competing. The tournament promises to be the most successful yet held, although it was arranged at very short notice. The Auckland, Hawke’s Bay and Nelson teams arrived to-day and others arc expected to-morrow.
